What this value means
Reference month June 2026, released 7 July 2026. YoY +2.60% is the highest reading since January 2025 (+2.67%) and the second straight month above the CBC's 2% 'alert' line (May 2026 was +2.20%). June's spike was driven by fuel (+19.45% YoY as crude rose on Middle-East tension), air fares (+13.49%), vegetables (+10.05% after heavy rain cut supply) and a jump in memory-chip-linked computer/education-equipment prices. First-half 2026 CPI averaged +1.70% YoY (core +2.03%); despite the June print the CBC's 18 Jun 2026 forecast still projects full-year 2026 CPI below 2% (~1.93%). DGBAS publishes the CPI monthly, typically on the 5th–7th of the following month; the Chinese-language source is www.stat.gov.tw (物價統計) and the series is also in the DGBAS statistical database (nstatdb.dgbas.gov.tw). Next release: July 2026 CPI, expected early August 2026.
