What this value means
REFERENCE MONTH June 2026, published 6 July 2026. Month-on-month +0.6%; cumulative since the start of 2026 +3.3% (against +4.2% in January–June 2025); June 2025 comparator was 8.7%. INFLATION TURNED BACK UP: the 6.4% June reading is an ACCELERATION from 5.5% in May — the May figure was itself a one-month base-effect trough caused by last year's energy-tariff step dropping out of the comparison, and June's electricity and gas tariff increases plus a near-doubling of coal prices pushed the annual rate back up. Anyone reading the CBU's 17 June 2026 statement (which cites 5.5% for May) will understate current inflation by almost a percentage point; the June print landed after that meeting. The series is still well above the CBU's 5% medium-term target, and the Bank forecasts roughly 6.5% at end-2026. Regional spread in June: highest annual growth in Samarkand 6.8%, Kashkadarya 6.7%, Andijan 6.6%; highest monthly in Khorezm 1.0%, lowest in Syrdarya 0.3%. ACCESS NOTE — this is the reason the Central Bank is cited rather than the statistics office: stat.uz publishes each monthly CPI release as a JavaScript-loaded page (the news item renders only a title and a 'Loading…' placeholder to any fetcher), its release IDs are non-sequential and non-guessable (Dec 2025 = 66078, Jan 2026 = 66707), and CPI items do not appear in the site's own news listing. The CBU's indicators page is plain HTML, carries the identical official series, and is therefore the machine-readable primary source; point a source-watcher there and treat stat.uz as the human-readable citation of record.
