Source provenance
A fingerprint of every official source we cite. For each we record a sha256 over the exact bytes retrieved, when we first verified against them, and when those bytes last changed. If a source is amended after we read it, `last_changed` moves and we re-verify the value before it is quoted.

What each status means
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
ok | Retrieved and fingerprinted. |
gone | HTTP 404/410 — the document is no longer published at that URL. |
blocked_to_automation | HTTP 401/403/429 — the host refuses automated retrieval. The document is very likely still available to a person following the link; we simply cannot fingerprint it, and we do not claim it is dead. |
unreachable | 5xx, timeout or DNS failure — may be transient. |
unchecked | Cited, not yet snapshotted. |
We publish the fingerprint, not the mirrored document. A hash plus a dated retrieval is evidence we read what we say we read; republishing hundreds of third-party documents raises licensing questions we have not cleared source by source.
Per-series fingerprints: https://asiaref.dev/provenance/{country}/{series}. Clients that do not send Accept: text/html still receive this payload as JSON.
