What this value means
National ('jatiyo') General point-to-point inflation for June 2026 = 9.16%, stated in paragraph 06 of the release. Base index 2021-22 = 100 (BBS rebased from 2005-06 with effect from the April 2023 release). Decomposition for June 2026: food 8.60%, non-food 9.61%; rural general 9.23% (index 146.42), urban general 9.01% (index 145.94). The 12-month moving-average inflation for July 2025-June 2026 was 8.68%, against 10.03% for July 2024-June 2025. CPI is compiled from 154 markets across all 64 districts. Bangladesh's fiscal-year inflation ceiling for FY27 is 7.5%, so the June 2026 print remains well above target. Note that BBS publishes ONLY point-to-point and moving-average rates plus the index level in the monthly release - a seasonally adjusted series is not published. ACCESS: bbs.gov.bd fails TLS chain verification for some clients ('unable to verify the first certificate'); the release itself is a Bengali-language PDF with Bengali numerals and NO usable embedded text layer, so pages were rasterised and read visually.
