What this value means
June 2026 headline y-o-y inflation 3.34%, with the IHK index at 111.89 (base year 2022 = 100). Month-on-month 0.44%; year-to-date (Jan-Jun 2026) 1.79%; CORE inflation notably lower at 2.76% y-o-y (0.23% m-t-m, 1.61% y-t-d), indicating the headline is being driven by volatile and administered prices rather than underlying demand. BPS attributes the largest contribution to food, beverages and tobacco, plus fuel (bensin) and air fares. Regional dispersion is wide: Papua Pegunungan highest at 7.84% y-o-y, West Sulawesi (Sulawesi Barat) lowest at 2.29%. All of the above independently reconfirmed against the BPS BRS No. 2590 release title and ANTARA/Tempo/Kompas coverage of the 1 July 2026 release. CONTEXT: at 3.34% the print sits in the upper half of Bank Indonesia's 2026 target band of 2.5% +/- 1% (i.e. 1.5%-3.5%), consistent with BI's back-to-back June rate hikes. BPS releases the monthly IHK on the first working days of the following month; the July 2026 print is due around 3 August 2026. ACCESS QUIRK — IMPORTANT: bps.go.id returns HTTP 403 Forbidden to automated fetchers on both /en/ and /id/ paths (statistics-table and pressrelease alike). The values in this record were confirmed from the BPS press-release URLs and their official titles plus BPS's own published release summary, not from a rendered page body. Re-verification will likely require a real browser session or a triggered Wayback snapshot. Note also that BPS rebased the IHK to 2022=100 (from 2018=100) in January 2024, so index levels are not comparable across that boundary — the y-o-y rates are.
