This followed an UNSCHEDULED (off-cycle) 25bp hike to 5.50% on 9 June 2026 — two hikes inside a single month, an unusual sequence that signals FX-driven rather than inflation-driven policy. Prior path in 2026: 4.75% (17-18 March, held), 4.75% (21-22 April, held), 5.25% (20 May, +50bp), 5.50% (9 June, off-cycle +25bp), 5.75% (18 June, +25bp).
