Taiwan minimum wage
Taiwan's statutory minimum wage, set annually by the Minimum Wage Deliberation Committee under the Ministry of Labor (勞動部) pursuant to the Minimum Wage Act (最低工資法, in force since 1 Jan 2025, replacing the former Basic Wage mechanism of the Labor Standards Act), and promulgated by the Executive Yuan to take effect on 1 January. Set as a monthly/hourly PAIR: the monthly rate covers full-time monthly-paid workers, the hourly rate covers part-time and hourly-paid workers.

What this value means
Effective 1 Jan 2026: monthly NT$29,500 (up NT$910, +3.18%), hourly NT$196 (up NT$6, +3.16%). Decided by the Minimum Wage Deliberation Committee on 26 Sep 2025 and promulgated by the Executive Yuan. This is the FIRST full cycle set entirely under the Minimum Wage Act (最低工資法), which came into force 1 Jan 2025 and moved wage-setting from the old Basic Wage Deliberation Committee (Labor Standards Act) to a legally mandated annual review that must weigh the CPI plus a defined set of economic indicators. It is the 10th consecutive annual increase. The monthly and hourly figures are set as a pair and are not proportional to each other (monthly ÷ 240 hours ≠ hourly), by design. An estimated ~2.47 million workers benefit. Next review scheduled for the third quarter of 2026, effective 1 Jan 2027.
