Taiwan policy interest rate
The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s discount rate — the headline policy rate, being the rate at which the CBC rediscounts eligible bills for banks. Set by the Board of Directors and Supervisors at its quarterly monetary policy meeting (March, June, September, December). The CBC also sets two adjacent facility rates: the rate on accommodations with collateral (secured refinancing) and the rate on accommodations without collateral (temporary accommodations).

What this value means
Discount rate raised to 2.00% on 21 Mar 2024, effective 22 Mar 2024 (a +12.5bp move), and held at every meeting since. The Board kept it at 2.00% at all 2026 decisions to date: 19 Mar 2026 (2026 Q1) and 18 Jun 2026 (2026 Q2); the accompanying facility rates are 2.375% (accommodations with collateral / secured refinancing) and 4.25% (accommodations without collateral / temporary accommodations). At the 18 Jun 2026 meeting the CBC revised its 2026 GDP growth forecast up sharply and projected 2026 CPI below 2%, but held rates and continued to lean on selective credit (macroprudential) measures on housing lending rather than the policy rate. Note the brief's phrase '重貼現率' is exactly right — this is the discount/rediscount rate, not an interbank target; Taiwan has no single overnight-target regime like Western central banks.
