Kazakhstan minimum wage
Минимальный размер заработной платы (МЗП) — the single national statutory monthly minimum wage. Not set by a wage board: it is fixed for the coming year in the annual republican budget law adopted by Parliament each December and applies from 1 January. There are no regional, sectoral or occupational variants.

What this value means
FROZEN, NOT RAISED: 85,000 KZT has been the МЗП for three consecutive years — set from 1 Jan 2024 (Закон № 43-VIII от 05.12.2023, ст. 9), carried unchanged into 2025 (Закон № 141-VIII от 04.12.2024, ст. 9) and again into 2026. It was 70,000 KZT in 2023. With CPI inflation running at 10–13% through 2025–2026 the real value has fallen sharply; expect pressure for a 2027 increase in the next budget law (due December 2026). Article 7 of the 2026 budget law also fixes the companion indices that drive most of Kazakh tax and social law and that change EVERY year even when the МЗП does not: месячный расчетный показатель (MRP) 4,325 KZT (2025: 3,932; 2024: 3,692) — MRP is what the income-tax brackets and the VAT registration threshold are denominated in; minimum state basic pension 35,596 KZT; minimum pension 69,049 KZT; subsistence minimum (прожиточный минимум) 50,851 KZT. As at confirmation the 2026 budget law carried no amending footnote (Сноска), so 85,000 stands unamended.
