What this value means
CONSTITUTION DAY IS THE TRAP — and the launching brief was wrong on it. The brief listed '30 Aug Constitution Day'. Закон РК от 11.06.2026 № 306-VIII (в действие с 01.07.2026), part of the package aligning legislation with the new Constitution, DELETED «День Конституции Республики Казахстан - 30 августа» from Article 3 and INSERTED «День Конституции Республики Казахстан – 15 марта». Verified by diffing the adilet archive versions: /rus/archive/docs/Z010000267_/19.04.2023 still reads '30 августа', the 11.06.2026 version carries the ИЗПИ notes 'Абзац 9 статьи 3 предусматривается исключить' and 'Статью 3 предусматривается дополнить абзацем четвертым', and /rus/archive/docs/Z010000267_/01.07.2026 reads '15 марта'. NET EFFECT FOR 2026: neither date is a day off this year — 15 March 2026 (a Sunday) passed while 30 August was still the holiday, and 30 August 2026 falls after the amendment took effect, so it is no longer a праздничный день. Constitution Day resumes as a holiday on Monday 15 March 2027. WEEKEND RULE (art. 5): «При совпадении выходного и праздничного дней выходным днем является следующий после праздничного рабочий день» — the rest day moves to the next working day; the holiday itself does not move. Four transfers apply in 2026: 8 Mar (Sun) → Mon 9 Mar; 21 Mar (Sat) and 22 Mar (Sun) → Tue 24 and Wed 25 Mar, giving a five-day Nauryz break 21–25 Mar; 9 May (Sat) → Mon 11 May; 25 Oct (Sun) → Mon 26 Oct. All 2026 transfers up to July were corroborated against the National Bank's official daily FX-rate archive (nationalbank.kz/rss/get_rates.cfm?fdate=DD.MM.YYYY), where a repeated rate marks a non-trading day: 1–2 Jan, 7 Jan, 9 Mar, 23–25 Mar, 1 May, 7 May, 11 May, 27 May and 6 Jul all show the carry-over pattern, exactly matching this list. No ministerial 'О переносе дней отдыха в 2026 году' order was found on adilet — the discretionary long-weekend transfer power in art. 85(3) of the Labour Code appears not to have been used for 2026, so only the automatic art. 5 transfers apply. KURBAN AIT DATE — CAVEAT: the first day of Kurban Ait is a statutory rest day (Labour Code art. 84(5)) but the state fixes no date; the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (ДУМК, muftyat.kz) does, and its 2026 religious-days calendar page returns HTTP 500 and its holiday calendars are published as images, so the date could not be read from ДУМК directly. 27 May 2026 (Wednesday) is taken from the NBK FX archive, where 27 and 28 May carry an identical rate (477.48 KZT/USD) — the same signature every confirmed 2026 holiday shows — and is consistent with ДУМК's own Hijri clock (24 July 2026 = 9 Safar 1448). Treat the STATUS as verified and the exact DATE as corroborated-but-not-officially-cited; re-verify against ДУМК for 2027. Also note 7 January (Orthodox Christmas) survives as a rest day in the current Labour Code text despite widespread reports of its abolition — art. 84(5) still names it, and the FX archive confirms 7 Jan 2026 was non-trading.
